This past week we got in a huge shipment of replica tin signs. They have been our most popular Christmas gift item two years in a row. At $18 they make for a fun inexpensive gift. This past week the first samples of a bran new line of wood slat signs arrived-a photo is attached. My favorite: “Always be yourself unless you can be Batman then always be Batman”, truer words were never spoken. A shipment of our latest hit “Provence” arrived. The 4 drawer and one door chests as well as the 63” dinning table are back in stock. We’ve stocked up on a few other Provence pieces. Photos can be seen on our Reproductions page. This past week we got in an enormous shipment of reclaimed wood furniture. We’ve restocked a bunch of pieces from our Provence line including: coffee tables, benches, and the extension dinning table. We are having trouble keeping the Provence line in stock, its been more popular than we anticipated. There is lots more Provence on the way. The sundried hall table is back, as is the large armoire in African dusk-a photo is attached. We also stocked up on Irish Coat African dusk pieces for fall: large & medium dinning tables, large sideboards, and Large Lifestyle desks. September 2nd, 2019

This past week we brought in another truck load from the Indian lot from a couple of weeks ago. New arrivals from that lot included: sets of sap buckets, charcoal irons, blanket chests, colourful small two door bookcase, night stands, small primitive two door cabinet, WWII helmets, lanterns, pulleys, large wooden mugs, handmade copper and steal pots and jugs, hanging kettles, hand carved wooden trays, 2 great scales, large metal advertising containers, a cool bicycle floor lamp-a photo is attached, and more. A couple of cool toys came in: The Donaldson Jockey Cycle company tricycle 1944-1948-a photo is attached, and a 5piece vintage Massey Harris toy tractor set. Antique furniture arrivals included: Malcom walnut chest of drawers and matching bed, needlepoint items[footstool, Eastlake chair, French Empire chair], oak steno chair, several sets of dinning chairs, a really nice large pair of pedestals, assorted night stands, sewing cabinet, pine kneehole desk, oval leather top parlour table with unusual brass gallery, 3 tier plant stand and more. Odds and ends included:3 washboards, exceptional pair of 1950’s bedroom lights, large European gilt mirror, sleigh, lots of printer’s trays, pair of brass wall sconces, Coleman lantern, wooden crates, 2 large road signs, window frame and window mirror, 3 crocks, 3 sets of crystal glasses, and more. We also acquired more cowbell! A collection of 12 cow bells turned up.

 

August 26th, 2019

At this point I believe we must have all the cups and saucers! They have become very popular collectables of late, so we keep expanding our collection, in a wide price range starting at $5. Too many to count came in this past week including lots of Paragon, Aynsley, Shelley, Royal Crown Derby[Imari & Mikado], Coalport, Royal Bayreuth, Royal Albert, Birks Ellis Ryrie, Elizabethan, and many more. We are stocking up for fall and received a shipment of reclaimed Irish Coast furniture this week; mostly living room furniture-media units, coffee and end tables, and nests of tables. We also got in 6′ long live edge sheesham[north Indian rosewood] tables, a photo is attached. Antique furniture arrivals from this past week included: a terrific tall Victorian bookcase-a photo is attached, refinished student’s desk, ladies desk, 4 assorted night stands, assorted lamp tables, 2 buffet mirrors, 2 tier mahogany piecrust table, pair of Victorian ladies’ and gentleman’s chairs, assorted press back chairs, iron magazine table, Gibbard dining room server, primitive hanging spice cabinet, pair of pedestals, double Eastlake jam cupboard, a dozen assorted mirrors, rare Krug drop front desk, and more. Just for good measure this week we threw in: a pair of cast iron urns, sets of crystal glasses, double Beaver gumball machine, assorted sterling and silver plated flatware, and as always even more stuff.

 

August 19th, 2019

This past week we received a shipment of pine furniture, made in Springwater Ontario, a photo is attached. Springwater arrivals included: tall sideboards, ladder shelves, 3 & 5 hook coat racks, 6 cube cubbies, 2 & 3 cube cubby benches, 3 & 4 foot bucket benches, 7′ harvest table, and a chalet bench[new item]. The harvest tables can be ordered to size in dozens of different colours. A container arrived from India that had lots of antique and refurbished items, as well as some old favorites made of reclaimed wood. New arrivals from India included: fire pits, sets of sap buckets, handcuffs, WWII helmets, charcoal irons, ammo boxes, cast iron keys, lanterns, hanging scales & buckets, hand hammered bowls & pots, large ship’s signal lights, tin jugs, advertising tins, and a great old scale-photo attached. Vintage and antique arrivals from this past week included: a nice hump trunk, small primitive buffet and hutch, large birdcage, serving tray, printer’s tray, 2 large construction signs, 2 magazine racks, unusual card table, large crocks, cast iron kettle, sewing machine table, painted folk art wagon, iron candle holder, 5 crystal chandeliers, mid century modern chest of drawers, electric fireplace, small dressers, pair of ornate wall mounted candle holders, fantastic Victorian gentleman’s chair, gunstock chair & assorted primitive chairs, 2 wine tables, red leather office arm chair, 71 piece Limoges set, assorted wicker pieces, pine wash stand, Tiffany style table lamp, set of 4 press back chairs, bronze figure, sleigh, a lot of storm windows, A. J. Rich acoustic guitar & case, and lots more. You would think that antique handcuffs would be the most unusual items of the week, but they are actually very popular. We don’t ask questions!

 

August 12th, 2019

This past week a rare 9′ 1” Victorian pier mirror showed up. We would have included a photo but it was impossible to get a good picture of such a large item, so come on in and take a look. We did include a photo of a terrific grain scale coffee table in mint condition. Antique furniture arrivals from this past week included: rosewood server, pine blanket chest, pine wash stand, oak tea trolley, nice 2 door English bookcase, nest of leather top tables, Art Deco cedar chest, cedar cedar chest, pair of tufted Victorian chairs, walnut sofa table, oak library table, refinished gateleg dropleaf table with extra leaf, iron vanity bench, child’s wicker rocker, oval ornate tea table, carved walnut cedar chest, assorted primitive chairs including an early handmade arm chair, and more. Further fun stuff that came in included: Medieval rustic mirror, Remington manual typewriter, C.N.R. signal lantern, easel, Portuguese wall clock, Aladdin oil lamp, 5 nice sterling mint dishes plus more sterling and silver plate, Maeizel Paquet 1915-1946 metronome, bronze and crystal chandelier, large Tiffany style table lamp, assorted cups and saucers-Aynsley, Paragon, etc., 3′ x 5′ shabby sheik mirror, oriental rug 44” x 72”, copper broiler, gutted Victrola cabinet, 2 window mirrors, rocking horse, goose whirligig, and lots more. This past week a collection of reclaimed wood furniture arrived. This shipment was mostly orders for customers, however we did restock the large Irish coast bookcases and several pieces from our Provence line. Photos can be seen on our Reproductions page. The Provence sideboard finally arrived, so we now have the entire line in stock. This past week lots of fun items for a game room or man/woman cave arrived. Three photos are attached of a working 1960’s pinball machine, a one arm bandit-slot machine, 6′ tall 1 cent 1920’s weigh scale, and our second Wurlitzer juke box[1970’s] this month. Antique furniture arrivals this past week included: a terrific double walnut poster bed, designer Muskoka chair, oak hall tree, primitive dresser, mahogany china cabinet, Windsor arm chair, magazine table, nice press back rocker, mission style plant stand, towel rack, magazine rack, redone late Victorian living room chair, outdoor chaise lounge, European hall table, round puzzle table, 3 way folding fireplace screen, cast iron base pub table and more. Additional arrivals from this past week included: a collection of wood crates and apple boxes, 3 piece French brass crystal and marble girandole set, 4 pairs of early wall sconces, old wood wheelbarrow, a very cool vintage child’s pedal car, 6 nice crocks, set of wooden steps, a lot of miscellaneous primitive smalls, fishing sign, fern stand, candle stand, wall shelf, large dough board, supply of insulators, sap buckets, coffee display stand, tins, tobacco cutter, assortment of antique bottles, large Canadian barn lantern, assortment of antique gardening tools, pair of iron and glass lamps, brass magazine holder, and lots more.

 

July 22nd, 2019

This week another big shipment from our Nature Form line arrived. Attached are 2 photos of what has quickly become one of our most popular items. We still don’t have a good name for them, natural tree parts with blown glass bowls, if you can think of a good name please let us know. There are 4 table top sizes, plus 3 floor model sizes, and now we have doubles in both table top and floor models. Other Nature Form arrivals include: teak coffee tables[large and medium], carved elephant nest of tables, Corona boat paddles, and a bunch of wood figures. Antique arrivals included: Seth Thomas mantel clock in excellent condition, 2 bronzes, folding sewing table with built in yardstick, brass fireplace poker set, bowl & pitcher, working vintage waffle maker, 2 belows, assorted chandeliers, maple dresser and mirror, 2 rocking chairs, cast iron bells, a nice pair of brass candle sticks, a lot of brass and steal oil lamps, brass scales of justice, Capo de Monte light fixture, silver plate punch bowl set, lots of chairs including a couple of Victorian needlepoint chairs, oak lift seat hall bench, cast iron umbrella holder, 4′ mahogany office credenza, 22 cups & saucers[Coalport, Aynsely, etc.], lots of mirrors including a nice buffet mirror, 2 large gilt frames, 2 student’s desks, pine chest of drawers, a nice pair of 3way table lamps, assorted smalls, and lots more. The award for most unusual item of the week goes to a silicon mold of an Egyptian bust.

 

July 15th, 2019

This week a fresh batch of kinetic wind spinners arrived, a photo is attached of a few of them. Photos don’t do the wind spinners justice, they are pretty cool in person. This should be the last batch of the season, so get them while they last. An assortment of fun reproduction signs and maps showed up, as did crab baskets, cast iron moose book ends, and lots of cast iron coat hooks. We haven’t been able to find any well made coat hooks for some time, so five months ago we made arrangements to get them direct, and they have finally arrived. Antique arrivals this week included:1920’s hump trunk, snow shoes, printer’s tray, oak wall phone, primitive wash stand, oak parlour table, assorted small tables, a batch of 1970’s license plates, brass umbrella stand, unusual clothes wringer, cast iron dough container, assorted chairs, wooden sleigh, bowl & pitcher set, pair of oval brass frames, wrought iron plant stand, pair of cast iron urns, spinet desk, Vintage 5 light adjustable floor lamp, large car boy, outdoor fencing pieces, chandeliers, and lots more. We got another batch of the solid brass triple wall sconces put together, they are back in stock. A photo is attached of a great sewing machine. We often get beat up tredle Singer sewing machines in that we cannibalize. Two came in this week, we use the bases to make tables, the sewing machines sell mostly for props, and the drawers are hugely popular, we are not sure why?

 

July 8th, 2019

This week a shipment of reclaimed wood furniture arrived by way of Vancouver. We’ve restocked the large Irish coast sideboards and the large Irish coast bookcases, photos can be seen on our Reproductions page. We bought a large collection of rare early 19th century china this week. All kinds of pieces were included: large soup terrines, platters, serving dishes, moustache cups, lots of cups and saucers, and lots more. We’ve only put out one box so far, it was all mustache cups and cups and saucers[Lippert & Haas, KPM porcelain, early Coalport and Minton’s, J. Clementson, Rockingham, PK Germany, and more] -a photo is attached. Many more pieces will be put out in the coming weeks as we have time to sort through it. A large collection of vintage tins arrived, a photos is attached. More antique arrivals this week included: a collection of 16 oil lamps-a photo is attached, early 1800’s spooled side table, carved half moon hall table, 7piece Art Nouveaux cocktail set, pair of Birks custom urns, vintage cameras, opera glasses, butter box, cast iron outdoor planters, walnut magazine table, excellent needlepoint fireside bench, piano stool, mahogany chest of drawers, small walnut open bookcase, oriental plant stand, mahogany night stand, Chippendale bar stool, demi-lune jewelry cabinet, a collection of sheet music, small carved curio cabinet, 8 assorted chandeliers, 4’high chimenea, garden tools, assorted mirrors, paintings, chairs, and small tables, brass kettle and incense burner, jelly mould, wooden cheese box, and lots more.
